ABOUT

Hi! My name is Lawren Alice. I've been based out of Philadelphia for 22 years and call myself an artist, muralist, and curator. Since 2018 I've been known for my signature bold, freehand flourishing pattern designs. My work has taken big inspiration from different cultural influences from all around the world. I've always loved the vivid colors of Pakistani truck art, the details of Norwegian rosemaling, and the raw, layered textures of graffiti. I mix these inspirations (and more) all together and create "approximately symmetrical" compositions that flow organically. While I don't often directly echo nature in my design, I heavily influenced by its elements and structures, using the inspiration to build my designs out from the center in layers as if they're a growing vine of ivy.

I absolutely love creating large-scale murals, custom canvases, hand painting on apparel, and upcycling furniture. I've painted on everything from sneakers to trash cans, surfboards to guitars, and walls to armoires. I consider any surface to be a worthy canvas and really love seeing what new projects I can apply my designs to.
