ABOUT
Hi! My name is Lawren Alice. I'm an artist, muralist, and curator. I've been based in Philly for over 20 years and love this city with everything I've got. I would describe my work and style as an exploration of modern damask-inspired patterning built from bold, freehand compositions that evolve organically as I paint. Each piece starts without a plan and builds outwards in layers, growing like a plant into what I like to call "approximately symmetrical" designs. My process is deeply rooted in feeling and intuition. As long as the project allows, my first drafts are never traced or stenciled. I try to allow for each line and tendril to be created in the moment. The result is a visual rhythm that feels somewhat structured and wild, decorative, and alive.

I love working on murals, canvas commissions, apparel, and furniture. So far my designs have shown up on everything from concert posters to beer cans, asphalt murals to gin bottles. I've done a lot, but I have a long list of dream projects. I'd love to design fabric patterns for a fashion house or create packaging for a fancy chocolatier or winery. And yes, I'm still hoping someone will hire me to paint the bottom of their pool or dance floor.
